Workshops are presented by Karen Fritz, LMSW who has directed the EAP and worked with dozens of local employers and supervisors, providing training and consultation for more than a decade. All workshops take place at Family & Children’s Service’s 127 West State Street office in downtown Ithaca.

Emotional Intelligence: Essential Soft Skills for Supervisors by Karen Fritz                  
Monday, October 1  5:00pm-7:30pm    
Working with people means working with emotions!  For supervisors, this training is an introduction to Emotional Intelligence (EI) and how soft skills contribute to organizational success and your own professional success.  Gain insight into your EI and identify emotional competencies you wish to develop and ways to enhance your leadership and professional skills.

Bust your Stress and Bolster your Resilience by Karen Fritz
 Tuesday, October 23  9:30am– 12:00pm  
This workshop will explore evidence based techniques for stress reduction to relieve stress in our minds and bodies.  Emphasis will be on mindfulness based stress reduction and cognitive strategies to help you keep a helpful perspective and be more resilient and productive in work and life.
         
Dealing with Difficult People and Conflict by Karen Fritz
 Monday, November 5  5:00pm-7:30pm
This workshop explores how to navigate tricky interpersonal waters in business relationships.  Attendees will enhance their understanding of human behavior, difficult people and personality types.  Attendees will also learn key communication/listening skills for handling conflict and difficult conversations.

Time Management: Balancing your Work and Family by Karen Fritz
Tuesday, November 13  9:30am-12:00pm
Many of us experience life as a race and big juggling act.  This workshop will explore issues and solutions to balancing work and family, while not leaving yourself out of the mix.  Attendees will learn time management and communication tools, as well as helpful self-care strategies.  Attendees will also identify their deepest priorities and keys to a more fulfilling, balanced life.
