EAP 2013 Spring Workshop Series


EAP SPRING WORKSHOP SERIES
FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND WELLNESS

All workshops take place at Family & Children’s Service’s
127 West State Street office in downtown Ithaca.
For Supervisor’s: Giving Feedback and Addressing Performance Issues
(Presented by Karen Fritz, LMSW)

When: Tuesday, April 16th 9:00am-12:00pm Fee: $35 w/our EAP $45 for others

For most supervisors, giving criticism or feedback and discussing performance issues is not
only a challenge, but highly uncomfortable. Learn how to have these difficult
conversations, set goals with employees and provide feedback in the most useful and
professional way. Attendees will also explore the importance of incorporating feedback,
in both of its forms (positive and negative) into your regular routine.

Secrets to Reducing Stress and Finding Calm (Presented by Karen Fritz, LMSW)

When: Friday, May 3rd 9:30am-12:00pm Fee: $35 w/our EAP $45 for others

This workshop will explore evidence based techniques for stress reduction to relieve stress
in our minds and bodies. Emphasis will be on mindfulness based stress reduction and
cognitive strategies to help you keep a healthy perspective, and be more resilient and
productive in work and life.

Everyone’s Occupational Hazard: Dealing with Difficult People
(Presented by Karen Fritz, LMSW)

When: Tuesday, May 7th 9:30am-12:00pm Fee: $35 w/our EAP $45 for others

This workshop explores how to navigate tricky interpersonal waters in business
relationships. Attendees will enhance their understanding of human behavior, difficult
people and personality types. Attendees will also learn key communication/listening skills
for handling conflict and difficult conversations.

Self Care for the Caregiver
(Presented by F&CS Senior Services Coordinator Robert Levine, MSW)

 When: Tuesday, May 14th 9:30-11:30 Fee: $25 w/our EAP $35 for others

Caregiving for a relative or elder can be both challenging and rewarding but it requires
a tremendous amount of energy, and it is quite common to become lax about our own
self-care. This workshop provides a space to learn and discuss self-care strategies that
can lead to a more successful caregiving experience for all involved.
